C2M absolute difference

I'm a new user for CloudCompare.
I'm interested in theory of C2M absolute difference but I cannot find the detail of this function in documentation.
Could you please tell me about the theory or any reference of this function?

There's not much to know about this (it's as easy as what is described here: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... _distances).

Fore more theoretical information you might look at http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/activities/surfa ... metro.html (but the Cloud-to-Mesh distance is easier because one surface is already 'sampled').
