Grainy distance comparison

Post by pendragn »

Hi all! I feel as if this is a simple thing to fix, but I don't see how to do it. I am doing a distance comparison between two meshes and I want the colors to blend more....I get very grainy results that make it harder for me to see and harder for me to show what is going on when I take screenshots. Is there a way to smooth out the colors a bit? (image attached) Thanks!

Looks like the distances are quite 'noisy' indeed.

You can either change the lower saturation value of the dynamic color scale (in the cloud properties, the SF display parameters). This way you could make everything below a threshold value the same color.

Or you can smooth the scalar field values directly (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ian_filter).
