Volume calculation for vertical cloud points

Hello,
I am trying to calculate the difference in volume between two point clouds that represent a steep vertical mountain side (changes due to rockfall and subsequent accumulation of colluvium). I used the 2.5D volume tool but am unsure of the end result (see attached below) because of the projection direction (Z). Is this tool suitable for such steep cases and is the volume calculation correct? Alternatively I will also try detecting changes with the M3C2 tool and then extract singular areas of interest and calculate the difference (in this program or another). Thank you for your help in advance!

I think it will be safer to rotate the clouds first to that Z becomes the dimensions with the most changes (so more something facing the cliff I guess). The 2.5D Volume Calculation tool only looks for changes along Z.

Thank you, makes sense, I only thought of that additionally.
