Roughness values

Post by lisan »

Hi, i have a few problems. So first i scanned a peace of a rock from the mountain and the pointclouds i opened on cloudcompare. For this i need the roughness and the coordinates value. I dont know if i did it right or wrong. So my first question is, what is the the value above the roughness scale (I mean the 0.578061)? My second question is if it is in a level or not. I tried it with the three points tool but it doesn't seem as if it is on a level. The third question is where i can get the measuring distance or where i can fint it? I watched several videos on youtube and i read a lot of information but i didn't find out anything. I appreciate every single help. And i am so sorry for my very bad english.

1) It's the scale/radius at which you've computed the roughness

2) The Level tool is used to rotate the cloud so that it's flat, by picking 3 points on a flat surface. Not sure what you were expecting?

3) What do you mean by 'measuring distance'? Is it maybe the distance between the points and the scanner? And if it's only the coordinates, you can export the cloud as an ASCII file, or you can use the Point picking tool and click directly on the points.
