ICP

Post by Ingsayyad »

Hi,
I wanted to register 2 scans using ICP. Both scans are already well registered. That'swhy I 'm think my transformation matrix should be with very minor coordinates.

I get strange transformation matrix. I cann't understand why it is. Should I do some preprocess.
I' m uploading images of results and the the scan can be downloaded.

Well, ICP is meant to register clouds with the same "shape". So if you have mismatches (either in shape or in coverage) it will produce a wrong registration.

If you want to register such clouds, you'll have to segment out some points in the "registered" cloud so as to keep only common parts (you can use the scissors tool for instance). Then you can apply the resulting transformation (see Console) to the original cloud (with "Edit > Apply transformation").
