Convert 3D texture to point cloud

Hello,
I would like to ask if there is any way to convert a 3D mesh with texture to point cloud of all pixels of that texture. I found there is a tool ELlipser under Plugins->Ellipse Making which allows exporting 2D image to point cloud but haven't found anything for 3D texture.

Not sure about Ellipser, but you can convert a 3D mesh to a point cloud with 'Edit > Mesh > Sample Points' (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ple_points).

EDIT: the most recent versions will also export the texture color!
