Grid-View/Lines option

Is it possible to apply Grid-view on any given point cloud (like 'Grid-lines' in MS Paint)? I want to extract transformation data(via point-pair registration) of each grid cell and process on it further. Till now , I have been doing it by manually segmenting the clouds into random sized patches.

You can define a clipping cell (cube) with the Cross Section tool. Then use the 'Repeat section' option to slice the cloud with the same cube 'repeated' (translated) in all dimensions.
