Command Line - Cross Section - Extract Polyline

Post by orso »

I am writing to see if the command line tool will extract a polyline with each generated cross section (In the same way the GUI tool functions). Similar to page 4 of the following document: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/qCC/Clo ... ool_V2.pdf.

If no, is this on your roadmap?

Thanks for the support!

Nope, you can only automate the slices extraction from now (but not the contour extraction from these slices).

Thank you for letting me know.

Daniel,
One more question:
Is it possible, through the command line, to extract a single polyline for a set of points? If no, is this on your roadmap?

Thank you for all of your continued support!

Not particularly... I can of course add it to the TODO list, but considering how big it is already it might take a lot of time before it's available ;)

That would be great! Just donated for this great piece of software. Struggling to pay off student loans and such, so could only afford $10. Will add more if I can. Thanks, again for the continued support!! ;)

Daniel:

Are you using a pcl tool for extracting a best fit contour line. If so, would you point out which tool in pcl does this? I am wondering if I can build a standalone app that reads in a sliced point cloud from cloud compare, then exports the best fit polyline.

Thanks for the continued support!

Nope, it's CC's own code.

We don't use PCL apart in the qPCL plugin.

Hi Daniel,

I don't want to open another topic just for this so I hope you would see it here. Are there any news about this functionality?
I am also looking for a way to extract a best fit contour line from a cross section output that i get throughthe command line.

Best regards,
Ivan

As far as I know, nothing has been done in this direction.
