The issue I have is that when rounded points are enabled, they display differently depending on the location/orientation of the camera. Sometimes they appear correct (solid grey points) however other times they appear to have some kind of black ring around every point, leading to a very abrupt visual transition between the two types.
Here's a scene with rounded points turned on, you can see on the left half of the image the points look correct, on the right half however they have black rings around them.

Here's the same scene with rounded points turned off, all of the points look correct.

The rounded points almost behave like they have normals which are pointing tangentially to the origin of the scan. Whenever I point the camera at the scan origin the rounded points to the right of the origin have the dark ring and those to the left don't. This behaviour is persistent as I rotate the camera around the origin.
Does anybody know how to make the rounded points behave the same way as the square points? That is, make them all appear as solid colour to the camera, rather than having them behave as if they have a normal orientation with the 'back' side of the point appearing different to the 'front'?
