Hello there,
very happy CloudCompare user here!
I get a strange behaviour from inside the Translate tool:
whenever i want to use the "Backward" or "Forward" buttons from within the "advanced" mode, to do a fine, step by step adjustment to my pointcloud, the Translation input box, where you set the step amount by typing it into, is always disabled WHILE there is only the "Ty" movement flag on.
Here's a screenshot:
In other words, i cannot use that function for Y direction, but it works flawlessy when i select Tx or Tz. In every case, the Ty is ignored, even when checked, the step function stays disabled.
Here below, screenshot with cc version and the form as described. Logic would suggest me that somehow my setup is wrong but i really cant figure it out. I tried to change the POV, thinking about some lock that occours while the view is aligned by some plane, but had no luck

Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
I guess it's a bug... I'll take a look ASAP.

Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
Can you try with the latest 2.14.beta version online?
I've updated the code and made some simplifications. At least I was not able to reproduce the issue afterwards.

I tried but latest version from github returns me this:
+ .\CloudCompare.exe
+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : ResourceUnavailable: (:) [], ApplicationFailedException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : NativeCommandFailed
from windows powershell prompt.
start.bat gives me access denied error (got no privs in this machine)
no problems with 2.13

Are you compiling it yourself? Can you use the Windows package available on the website?

Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
I've downloaded this:
CloudCompare_v2.14.beta_bin_x64.7z
edit: to be clear: i've no admin privs on this machine (work) hence, maybe its a PATH issue?

Hard to say. And I cannot reproduce the issue on my side sadly.

Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
It seems that CC by default, as freshly downloaded (i get the zip version) is trying to access (read from) resources outside its home dir
Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
Can you expand on this? Do you know which resource?
Mind also that if you use the zip package, you'll probably need to install the 'Visual Studio 2022 Redistributable Package'

Re: Ty Translation input box always disabled in Translate form tool
Hello there, putting the 2.14 beta in c:\user\xxx\Desktop instead of Documents for some reason solved the issue, although this does not sound as a proper solution, both dirs should have the same rights/policy.
Anyway, i've tryied the new Transform Tool and it do fix the "Ty" box not being enabled. Thanks.
Can we have a shortcut for that, as we have for "Segment" (T) or "Apply Transformation" (Ctrl + T) ?
