Hello,
how do you get the z to line up for two clouds?
I am trying to generate an DEM w lidar from two separate UAV flights. I plan to align the two clouds and merge them. Then pull the minimum height for each point.
I did a translation and rotation on the layer to be aligned and never moved the cloud with groundtruthed elevations. Then I followed the wiki instructions for "Alternative method for registering partially overlapping clouds" (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... gistration). The Y and X line up but the z does not. One cloud is red-yellow and the other is blue green.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: z in overlapping clouds not lining up
Which version do you use?
Did you add any restriction to your registration algorithm? Especially rotation?
If yes and you use releases before 13.0 then you should try the new one, there was a bugfix. If you have issues with the new version than probably better if you could share your dataset.

I see. I am using 2.12.4. I did not add a restriction in the registration algorithm.
see attached another example of the z issue (both layers are in rgb here. I'll try in the newest version. thanks!
