Why the RGB values of points could are same?

Post by d.shahi »

The found RGB values of points are the same which result grey-colored points in Cloud Compare. I have registered TLS scans data using AutoDesk Recap Pro 2023. What could be the possible reasons for this?

Are they maybe exporting the laser intensity as RGB ? (instead of the real colors, if any).

Intensity values has separate columns.

I have tried with other scans. The RGB view of point clouds are fine in the Autodesk Recap. But when it is exported(.e57 format) and opened in CloudCompare, it doesnot show true RGB color of points. Here are the images for the reference.

Have you tried to change the column assignation? It seems to me column n°4 is the intensity (should be opened as a scalar field) and the 3 next ones are R, G and B.
