Hi!
I'm new to Cloudcompare but I am trying to create a solid element (mesh?) from a point cloud. I have been trying with PoissonRecon but the result is stange. I get these large blobs on the surface of the element. I guess it's where the point cloud has holes but I'm not sure.
Any help?

Yes, it's related to missing information, and also potentially to badly oriented normals. Last, you can change the boundary type in the advanced parameters (that can change the behavior on these hole borders).
And of course, the standard workflow is to remove the triangles in low density areas (where information is missing - see the 'output density SF' option), but in your case I guess that's not what you are looking for...
