Trying to find smoothing options

I am trying to create a new object by smoothing the surface of an existing one and then use cloud compare to measure the difference. It has a unique shape so the standard shapes generated by the software do not much and too many of them are created. Any ideas???

Are you dealing with triangular meshes? In this case you can use the 'Edit > Mesh > Laplacian Smooth' tool. And... that's all I believe!
