P.C.A Bounding Box Question

Post by pdevine »

Hello,

The P.C.A Bounding Box under the sandbox tools seems like it fits the shape of the point cloud really well. Is there a way to map the predefined views (top, bottom, front, back, left, right) to the new bounding box after running the tool? It seems that the predefined views still use the old bounding box after updating it with the P.C.A tool.

Thanks you.

Hum, as its parent menu suggests, it's really a 'research / test' tool. And it relies on a visual trick to achieve the result.

The only info you have is the rotation matrix that allows to effectively rotate the cloud so that the resulting bounding-box would be the one displayed. You can clone the entity, apply the tool, then copy the matrix in the 'Transformation history' of the cloned entity properties. And eventually you can apply the matrix to the original entity (with Edit > Apply Transformation).
