Distance measurement

After using Tool>Fit>Plant to create a plane, the RMS was 1.110040, performed a C2M with a max height of 1.1. I'm getting the results alright but I want to know if in the C2M distance calculation, the generally height of the point cloud affects the results (I noticed the points of the cloud above the plane mesh that were indicating max height pervthe colour scale and also points that were beneath but also shown max height).

The height shouldn't matter (or even the orientation of the cloud).

Not sure about the second part ;)
