Unable to upload laz files to Cloud Compare

Hi, very new to CC and didn't see a resolution to this problem on the forum.

I just downloaded Cloud Compare 2.10.2 (Zephyrus) [macOS 64-bit] on my Mac (10.14) and tried to upload a .laz file. When I use the "open" feature in Cloud Compare, all of my .laz files are greyed out so I can't select them. I know of others have successfully used these same data in CC, so the files aren't corrupt. Is there something obvious I'm missing, like formatting or a necessary plugin perhaps?

Is the 'las' filter selected in the file loading dialog?

Not sure how this work, but I'm pretty sure LAS/LAZ format is supported on the official macOS function (well, since I'm not a macOS user, I'm not 100% sure either ;)
