Two coolers comparison: Yeti Tundra 35 versus Tundra 45

Your outdoor adventures wouldn’t be complete if your backpack coolers could not keep your things cold for more than two days. While many manufacturers offer customers good coolers with reasonable prices, Yeti is still one of the most reliable brands on the market.

It has some of the Best Coolers In The World Image with super ice retention. Your food and drink can last for five to seven days, allowing you to have the most enjoyable camping experiences. As we know, Tundra 35 and Tundra 45 are two popular Yeti coolers, we thought why not compare them? Let’s take a look!

1. Dimension and volume

Comparing two coolers in terms of dimension and capacity is always our first priority. These differences give you some pointers on which one is a better choice for your needs.

The outside dimensions of the Tundra 35 are 16 1/8” × 15 3/4” × 21 3/8”. Its inside measurement is 9 3/8” × 10 5/8” × 13 7/8”. The Tundra 45 is slightly bigger with an outside dimension of 21 1/8” × 16 5/8” × 21 1/8” and inside measurement of 13” × 12 3/4” × 13”.

While the Tundra 35 can hold 21 cans of beer and 26 pounds of ice, its bigger brother can hold up to 52 cans of beer and 43 pounds of ice. Yeti recommends the ideal ratio for ice-to-cans (or other contents) as 2:1

In terms of height, even though the Yeti 35 is smaller, it’s higher than the Yeti 45. While this is not important to many, it’s worth a consideration. It’s best to make sure that your cooler can fit in your vehicle.

2. Shape

Tundra 45 is rectangular, whereas its smaller sibling, the Tundra 35 is cube shaped. Even though Yeti cooler Tundra 45 is bigger, it is long and short, which means it’s better for outdoor family trips.

However, if you’re thinking of taking a few bottles of wine with you, the Tundra 45 might not be an ideal choice. The Tundra 35, on the other hand, is a perfect fit for outings with a group of friends.

3. Weight

The Tundra 35 weighs 20 lbs while the Tundra 45 weighs 23 lbs. Even though this weight difference seems to be not a big deal to many, it could be tiresome to carry with you during long walks in the woods or on the beach.

Therefore, it’s always a good idea to consider your needs, the types of trips you usually have, the number of participants on the tours. In short, weight should be regarded as carefully as other factors such as price or ice retention. The best coolers of your choice shouldn’t give you back pain after your trips.

All Yeti coolers are roto-molded ones, so regardless of which model you go with, its ice retention should not have you worried. Rotomolding techniques ensure excellent mechanical strength for your coolers. They are sturdy and rugged enough for you to use them as a substitute for a chair.
