New to CloudCompare and Very Confused

Post by bryan.horn »

Hello! I am new to this program and am having some issues. I have tried watching some tutorials online but have not found a solution to a few of my problems.

Basic info (if needed): v2.10.1 (Zephyrus) 64-bit
Utilizing dense clouds created via Agisoft Photoscan

Problems:

When I bring my clouds in they are extremely small and I have to zoom in until the scale bar says 0.0015 in order to even see it, how can I change this?

I am looking to align two clouds of the same area in order to eventually run a change detection, the issue is none of the options are available (as in everything is grayed out). I have watched tutorials on the align tool and from start up the user is always able to open their cloud(s) and then go right into the tool functions but that is not available for me, how do I go about fixing this/using the tool correctly?

Any and all advice/tips are appreciated, thank you!

This looks like a coordinate system issue. This generally happens when X and Y dimensions have not the same units as the Z dimension (for instance angular coordinates for X and Y, and meters or even lower for Z). CC only handles cartesian coordinate systems (UTM, etc.).
