Template Matching

Post by ozi »

Hello
I want to ask if there is any possibility to make a 'template matching' in Cloud Compare? I want to find a point cloud inside a bigger point cloud.

Background: I want to measure a surface of a device and check if the parts on the surface are in the correct position and correct orientation as at a reference scan. Is that possible in CC?

greetings

Not directly, no.

In the best case you could try to train a very specific CANUPO classifier with your shape. But that may not be super easy (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... O_(plugin)).

Hello
thanks for the tip. I will try the Canupo

Could the Ransac Shape detection also be a solution?

best regards

RansacSD can only find primitives (spheres, cylinders, torii,etc.).
