Hey guys,
Since a couple of versions I have the problem where the colours of the imported .pts are washed out and shifted to blue.
I have no idea how it happened and I can't seem to correct it.
Uninstalling and/or installing a newer version also doesn't solve it.
Anyone here who knows what's going on?

Re: Washed out colors in pointcloud
Have you maybe changed the default light/material color?
Can you maybe reset the display parameters to their default? (in the Display parameters dialog).

Re: Washed out colors in pointcloud
I went to [Display] -> Display settings.
There I reset the colors and materials as well as the color scale (scalar field) tabs.
This didn't do the trick..
Is this what you meant, or am I looking in the wrong spot?
*Oh, and I also reset all GUI elements.*

Re: Washed out colors in pointcloud
Looks like it's a .pts export issue with Recap.
If I import a .e57 into CC, export it as .pts, re-import the .pts files/setups and merge them into 1 .pts, the colors are correct.
I guess that'll be my workaround for now then..

Re: Washed out colors in pointcloud
I know this is an older thread, but it comes up first when searching for a solution to the problem of Recap exported PTS files having the wrong colors when imported to CloudCompare (and there is a better solution).
You don't need to use an .e57 file, exporting, importing etc.
The issue is that Recap exports the PTS in the order x, y, z, intensity, r, g, b, normals...
CC assumes that the import is the order x, y, z, r, g, b, intensity, normals
When importing a PTS file change the column types to match this order:
X cord, Y cord, Z cord, Scalar, Red, Green, Blue, Nx, Ny, Nz
