Double Click to Specify Center of Rotation not working on Mac

Post by kdjacob »

Hello CCers:

I'm running CC on a Mac with M1 silicon.

A function related to specifying the center of rotation appears to not be working.

Double clicking does not cause the COR to change.

Any advice on why or how to fix this?

Sincerely,

Ken

Sadly many things are different on macOS... hard to tell. Also, make sure there are some points below your mouse cursors (but I guess it's the case).

Hi Daniel,

I just put this in as a bug in Github.

Sometimes you have to toggle on and off the automatic pivot point for it to work, the problem for me is, when I double click it chooses a shifted center of rotation, completely far away from my double click. This is not the case when I use the pick center of rotation tool (p). I am also using M4 macbook. This is very annoying, i wish i could even reprogramm the shortcut P to something else

This issue should be fixed (hopefully) with the latest 2.14.alpha release. I'm just not sure it's available for macOS yet.

BTW very interesting thing, connecting to an external display using the HDMI solves the issue, now double clicking works and selects the point unshifted!

I figured out the issue, it is when using a different resolution in mac than your actual screen resolution, so make sure in advanced display settings to turn on screen resolution list and select the highest resolution, now it works properly. For some reason on mac the default is different than the full possible resolution
