Dear folks,
i had a quick chat with Luke about this topic and i wanted to drop these lines here to encourage you to continue.
:) By the way: there are a lot more people i know who tried to improve CANUPO and/or coding their own alternatives...
But still there's no succesful result yet. People ...

analyse local thickness of laserscan-data || road surface
Dear CC-users,
i am searching for an elegant way of a "local pointcloud analysis".
I attached some example screenshots and looking forward to read your suggestions.
The scan is from an airborne lidar and i'd like to assess the quality of the scan on a road surface.
A paved road should be a sharp ...

Re: Error 0xc000007b on 2 machines (Win10 64bit)
Thanks again my friend... I will close this request here. It's helpless.
Those procedures you mentioned were all already tried before I bothered this forum.
The error is too unspecific. Some conflict seems to exist with other software (which I use on both machines). It could be any of them and i ...

[CANCELLED] Error 0xc000007b on 2 machines (Win10 64bit)
Hi all,
i was trying to update to a new CC version, but i am getting the (already well known) error code from Windows 10 Pro 64bit.
The strange thing about it is:
# all CC versions are running fine up to 2.10.X
# all later versions (2.11.alpha: 2.11.beta; 2.11.3; 2.12.alpha) failed to start after ...

Re: Thinning ground survey
Normally it should work, but it depends on your scalar field and how you set the value (which can be tricky)
Hi Daniel,
unfortunately i fear that there's a bug since a couple of versions.
Setting the correct values is tricky indeed, but at least when you see a success with two values for the ...

Re: Thinning ground survey
Dear group,
some of you - and also me - reported about some difficulties to thin the cloud by curvatures.
One of the posts is this one here and from time to time i think about wether there were some changes already.
Am i wrong and the process still is working for all of you out there?
Or can it ...

Re: Thinning ground survey
Hi Daniel,
here are 5 screnshots with the following:
1) orig. Pointcloud (gravel pit) wit metric values for coordinates
2) SF by "surface variation" (radius 0.5) with very nice results of the "breaklines"
3) SF clipped a little responding to the values
4) subsampling with 0 and 1 just to show it ...

.... using the subsampling 'use actif SF' mode so as to make the radius change based on the scalar value associated to each point: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/index.php?title=Edit%5CSubsample
Daniel could you check this again, please?
I still experience a bug when putting the higher ...

Re: Animation Plugin Developed
Hello forum members :)
The animation plugin is a great tool to show the strength of cloudcompare to others.
Is there a way to change the path behaviour at the viewports to make the camera path more smooth?
I understood that the camera position is interpolated between the viewports and i wonder if ...
