Not a question, a praise

Hi Daniel, this is just to let you know that I'm impressed by the speed at which the .bin v2 files are loaded...I mean it just takes seconds to load 100 millions points ! This is just astounding...This blow out loading the original files in Leica Cyclone. It's now so easy to load and unload files, e...

Re: Cloud to Cloud difference clarifications

Hi Daniel, great to see the improvement on the C2C calculation with models. I'll try to update the tests I did in the paper at the next review iteration process. How difficult would it be to use a local model to average the position of the compared point ? Even if you do not compute the distance alo...

[Done] Ascii scalar names + keyboard shortcut

Hi Daniel, With the latest version of our 3D point cloud comparison software we output ascii files (boouuh) and the first line contains the name of the columns (and there are several column). When I skip this line, Cloudcompare guess correctly that the first 3 columns are coordinates, and the 3 next...

Vectors/arrows in 3D

Hi all, I'm dreaming of the possibility to have displacement vectors or normals that could be visible in 3D. The basics ingredients would be : . specity a decimate factor for displaying (i.e. 1 point every 10 or so...otherwise, it'll be hardly visible) . use the local normal orientation . potentiall...

Automatic ascii record of multipe files

Hi Daniel, maybe I dreamt it, but I thought that in a previous release (last year ?) it was possible to select N clouds and save them automatically in N invidual ascii files named after the cloud name ? In the current version if you select multiple clouds, they are recorded in a single .bin file (bu...
