Re: Structure of a quadric

Ah, you're right! My personal quadric has the structure e.x.y. Only the documentation says the equation is a+b.x+c.y+d.x²+e.y²=0.

Thanks :)

Structure of a quadric

Hello, I'm using the fit-> 2.5D quadric very often and I wonder how it works mathematically. The documentation says that the cloud is first projected on its best fit plane. Does that mean that you take the distances from the original cloud to the plane as z-values for the quadric? Do you calculate t...

Re: Problems with exporting images with "Rasterize"

Thanks for the answer. I found out that exporting a matrix of the values fits my purpose. Edit: Seems like the matrix export function doesn't work as well. It only exports the height grid values. Is there any possibility to evade this problem? I already exported .tif files but there are quite dark. ...

Problems with exporting images with "Rasterize"

Hi, i want to export an rasterized image of a cloud. I want to export the active layer C2M signed distances(-) but when i update the grid in the "Rasterize" window and export the image i always get the height grid values as a bitmap .bmp. Is it possible to export the distances as an image?...

Re: Calculate the median/average point of a segmented cloud

Thank you. I think this will work.

Can you tell me how the barycenter is calculated? What about outliers? Do they get eliminated for the calculation?

Best regards

Calculate the median/average point of a segmented cloud

Hi,

I segmented a part of my point cloud and now I want to calculate the median or average point of that segmented cloud. Later i want to use this point for a planefitting. Is this possible in CloudCompare or do I have to extract the point list.

Best regards.

Scaling the Color Scale

Hi, i computed signed distances between a cloud and a mesh and i want to visualize the output. I'm interested in the values between -0.6 and 0.7 (see image). http://imgur.com/GNifNyq http://imgur.com/GNifNyq But when i set the display ranges to these values, more than half of the colorscale is grey ...
