Wow, thanks - that's a nice and useful feature!

Re: Autosave
Sorry for the late answer, I had no Internet last week ;) Of course there should be no bugs at all in the software, but as I've worked as a programmer myself I'm aware that there are sometimes bugs that you can't fix. But I'll report if I can find a reconstructable bug. Do you have any logging file ...

Re: Saving colors on mesh/polygons?
Ok, that makes sense. So I guess I will better save it as .ply... I'll go on and test this. P.S.: you should compute the 'density' (see the PoissonRecon plugin dialog) in order to remove the 'bubble' below the car (see the wiki for more info). Oh, I thought that was a normal result :D I've looked at...

Re: Autosave
No, not reproducable at all. For example, I'm segmenting some parts so I can delete everything that's around my object. 20 times this works fine, and without changing anything suddenly CC crashes. I open the file again, do exactly what I've done before - and it works like nothing happened. Same for ...

Saving colors on mesh/polygons?
Please forgive me if I'm asking maybe another stupid question, but I'm currently struggling with another problem. When I create a mesh based on a point cloud (with Poisson surface reconstruction), I'm asked if I want to import the colors. When I click on "yes", it works and shows me the co...

Autosave
Dear Daniel, would it be possible to build up an autosave function that can be switched on / off inside the settings menu? CC keeps crashing at least once a day and all work that has been done up to that is gone forever (I'm not a lazy person when it's about pressing the save-button, but especially ...

Re: Computing normals is terrible slow
And by the way, this is what the calculated Mesh (Poisson Surface Reconstruction) looks like (with double side lightning, as some parts like e.g. the wheels, and the tow of the crane have still wrong normals)

Re: Computing normals is terrible slow
Thanks! :) I've just tried and tested some calculations with the "Orient Normals" function and got several results. None of them is completely fine, but I'm getting close to. Special thanks for your tip with the subsampling method, I've already searched for a function like this! I don't kn...

Re: Computing normals is terrible slow
Thanks for your answer! I'll try that later. It seems that I'm a patient waiter... but I just wanted to see how long it will take if I don't change anything at the settings (and I've already started when I wrote the question). Well, it was about 6.5 hours and now I have a result to show... I have to...

Computing normals is terrible slow
In the meantime I got a new PC, so I've started testing some functions in CC. When I open a file for the first time, CC asks me if I want to compute normals - which works fine. I merged some point clouds and improved the data, and now wanted to create a mesh with it. Unfortunately it seems that some...
