Mean distance with absolute value and Max relative error
Hi Daniel, I have two question for you. 1. I have a point cloud with a fitted primitive. I used “compute cloud/mesh distance” and it show the “mean distance” from point cloud and primitive. This value is calculated with positive (above the primitive) and negative (under the primitive) distance compa...

Re: Size Primitives
In previous release (I think 2.5.2) if I selected the plane in the properties appeared this type of information (width and lenght). Now there is only the box dimension of the plane and the center of this. Is or isn't possibile in 2.6.1? It is possible restore it or there is another method for know t...

Size Primitives
Hi Daniel,
Sorry for a question, it is a stupid question, but I don't remeber it or I can't find it after new update. How can I get the size of a simple plane or primitive inserted by the software? For example x=3.51 and y=6.3.
Thank You Very Much!!!!

Re: Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
Is there a method in cloudcompare how the RANSAC algorithm accurately approximates the plan? I want to know the error that the algorithm RANSAC commits and the relative goodness of approximation between the plane and the point cloud.

Re: Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
I read some articles on RANSAC method. It is based on two kind of points: inliers and outliers. I have a question on the parameter "e" in plugin parameters dialog. Is the parameter "e" the size of "inliers box"? Or includes it outliers point so and in a second moment ma...

Re: Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
This is the problem. If I can understand which parameters are good, the problem is solved otherwise I have to change them. What do you mean by "good value"?

Re: Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
I try to set the parameters of RANSAC method in plugin parameters dialog. Each point cloud selected has a different set of parameters. For example a point cloud has automatically the parameter e=0.053 and another point cloud has e=0.045. Why are there different values? What causes different paramete...

Re: Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
Thanks for the answer!
I would like to know how the software inserts the plane with "Fit" method. It uses a linear regression for example?

Tools>Fit>Plane and RANSAC
Hello Daniel, I’m using cloudcompare for my thesis and I have a problem. I have to find the best plane to fit a point cloud. The software allows you to use two methods (at least I think so): tools> fit> plane and RANSAC. My questions are: what is the difference between two commands? what criteria th...
