BTW very interesting thing, connecting to an external display using the HDMI solves the issue, now double clicking works and selects the point unshifted!

Sometimes you have to toggle on and off the automatic pivot point for it to work, the problem for me is, when I double click it chooses a shifted center of rotation, completely far away from my double click.
